Keeping it real

We're trying to wean Helena off her pacifier. This is no easy chore. She refers to it as her 'mama', i kid you not. We're only letting her have it when in her crib. In the following sequence, it is late afternoon and Helena is tired and getting grumpy - and really wants her pacifier. Even when she's crying she's so darn cute. I ended up giving her three OTHER pacifiers (she only has one she likes). She tried each one, made a face at it, and cast it aside. Finally, she took some comfort from her sippy cup.

Sunday...

first, we drew pictures:
Then we went to urgent care cuz I thought she had pink-eye (its just an eyelid infection, apparently), but I don't have pics of that.

So: then we watched Daddy repair the retaining wall out back...

scrap that- she LOVES stormtroopers

She hates storm troopers

Helena roars at the storm troopers... (her new favorite thing is playing Star Wars- a game her Daddy is happy to indulge)

and this is a video from a couple of weeks ago when she and Violet were playing... nothing much happens but its kind of cute.

my sleepy babies, redux...

A Saturday catnap - neither one was feeling 100%. Helena has had a terrible stomach virus all week, AND has at least two molars coming through, poor thing. Plus got her measles shot yesterday. We cobbled together care for her last week, thanks in large part to my wonderful mother who swooped down to the rescue, and my darling sister who helped, but as for this coming up week - let's just say my fingers are tightly crossed...

Trying to catch up- i've been a Very Bad Blogger lately. lots going on- busy with work, fighting off colds, trying to recapture that short-lived sleep success, etc... but Spring is almost here - nuff said. Here are some recent pics:
